History of The Storehouse

Pastor Titus Scholl, the former pastor of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, began the first free food distribution by what is now The Storehouse in 1969. With the support of Albuquerque area churches and the New Mexico Conference of Churches, The Storehouse was incorporated in 1976. Pastor Scholl founded The Storehouse as a nonprofit, ecumenical, local, grassroots ministry, supported by individuals, congregations, nonprofits and businesses throughout Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Today, The Storehouse operates from an 11,000-square-foot warehouse on the edge of Albuquerque's old downtown area, less than 50 yards from historic Route 66.
