Albuquerque and Rio Rancho Albertson’s Grocery stores donated $40,000 to The Storehouse during the 2009 holiday season. Albertson’s collected the money as part of a program called Food For All by running a holiday season point-of-purchase fundraiser. The fundraiser featured boards stocked with $1, $3 and $5 donation coupons at each Albertson’s checkout stand.
Customers donated simply by selecting a coupon in the desired denomination and purchasing it.
“Every year, Albertson’s associates and customers help to feed thousands of hungry people in New Mexico through the help of great organizations like The Storehouse,” commented Christine Wilcox, Public Affairs Director for Albertson’s LLC. “Raising muchneeded funds for The Storehouse is how Albertsons and its customers can be involved and help to make a difference here.” “Albertson’s and The Storehouse have a long standing partnership of working together in our community,” said Lee Maynard, President of The Storehouse’s Board of Directors. “The Food For All fundraiser is just one more way that together we candirectly impact hunger in our city.”

Pathways
Pathways is a program through UNM’s Health Sciences Center that is designed to
reduce unmet needs, address health inequities, and improve the overall health of the
residents of Bernalillo County. Pathways and The Storehouse have recently partnered together to help better serve The Storehouse’s customers. The program focuses on positive health outcomes by utilizing community health navigators as care coordinators who connect at-risk residents to resources, such as The Storehouse, and follow their clients progress toward improved health outcomes.
Meaningful outcomes for the clients are reached by following a step-by-step approach (pathways). A pathway begins with an identified problem, includes several action steps to address the problem, and concludes with a meaningful outcome for the client. Distinct pathways are designed for a multitude of different issues, including clinical health problems, difficulties accessing health services, and social determinants that are commonly known to affect health & well-being of underserved populations.
The Storehouse currently has 23 active participants in the Pathways program. The participants get to select which need is the most important to their individual situation and prioritize their own pathway. The top requested pathways for The Storehouse participants include Food Security, Health Care Home (Doctor), Pharmacy/Medications, Depression, Diabetes, and Employment. Other program needs include
Behavioral Health, Child Care, Housing, Child Support, Income Support, Dental Care, Legal Services, Medical Debt, Domestic Violence, Pregnancy, Substance Use/Abuse, Transportation, Heat and Utilities, and Vision and Hearing.
